Twin Cities free outdoor cages
Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board and St. Paul parks often allow open diamond soft-toss when fields aren’t reserved. Dedicated free pitching-machine cages are rarer — use Free outdoor only, then verify park rules.
Access tip: “Free outdoor” usually means a public park diamond or walk-up cage with no token machine. Leagues often reserve cages for practice. Bring a helmet, your own balls/tee when allowed, and always confirm posted park rules.
Parent notes
- Bring a tee or soft-toss net; don’t assume a walk-up machine.
- Winter = indoor paid facilities.
