*PONY, Dixie Youth, Little League Majors↓, AABC youth USABat divisions, etc. ban BPF 1.15 / require USABat. †PG & Triple Crown commonly allow USSSA BPF 1.15 in younger brackets with drop limits (e.g. no −5 USSSA at many 12U PG events). Dizzy Dean 5–12 allows 1.15 BPF per its rulebook — still confirm. AAU nationals say “no restrictions” ≤13U but districts vary.
“Legal” assumes a permanent USSSA mark from a licensed maker, the model isn’t on a non-compliant list, and your event’s drop/barrel rules are met. Reviewed October 23, 2026.
