Baseball bat drop chart

Drop = length (inches) − weight (ounces). Bigger absolute drop = lighter bat for its length. Reviewed October 23, 2026.

Parent disclaimer: Charts are starting points from common manufacturer age/height tables — not a perfect fit for every kid. Confirm stamp and drop rules with your league and each tournament. We don’t give medical or swing-coach advice.

What drop means

A 30″ / −10 bat weighs about 20 oz. A 33″ / −3 BBCOR weighs about 30 oz. Lower drop numbers feel heavier.
