How bat stamps work

The stamp on the barrel (or taper) is what umpires check — not the brand name on the ad. This applies in every U.S. region.

USA USA Baseball (USABat)

Wood-like performance standard for most recreational / town youth baseball since 2018. Used by Little League, Babe Ruth / Cal Ripken, PONY, AABC, NABF (youth), Dixie Youth, Dizzy Dean (among others), and many park districts.

Look for: the permanent USA Baseball mark. Solid one-piece wood bats generally don’t need the mark.

USSSA USSSA BPF 1.15

Higher-performance standard common in travel / select ball (USSSA events, many Perfect Game & Triple Crown age brackets). Mark must be permanent from a licensed manufacturer.

BBCOR BBCOR .50

High school (NFHS) and many 14U–18U travel/high-school-prep standards. Drop is −3. Stickers/decals are not accepted as the certification mark.

A marketing name like “Hype Fire” or “Icon” can exist in both USA and USSSA versions. Buy the stamp your league requires.
